When we were recently invited to be a part of Terrapin Beer Co.’s “National Get Outdoors Day”, we jumped at the chance. With their new #TakeTerrapin campaign aligning so well with Expedition Georgia’s mission to get more people outdoors, it was a perfect match!
On this past Saturday, June 10th, we loaded up Maple X and headed to the Athens, Ga based brewery. The easy drive up GA 316 led us right through the city of Athens and the brewery. Upon arrival at Terrapin, we were pleasantly greeted by the event organizers and shown the area where Maple X would be on display! After set up, we took a few minutes to relax under our Maple X’s new awning before the masses arrived!
Once the doors opened, the courtyard was soon filled with patrons carrying their favorite Terrapin brew, a lot of which had their four-legged friends in tow. We spent the day talking to all sorts of different people and showing off all of Maple X’s awesome features. With music from Virginia artist Ray Buckner, food from Rey’s Cuban Cafe, and Terrapin’s Recreationale, the day was looking up!
By the time 7:00 pm rolled around we were ready to give away the big prize of the day; a free weekend with Maple X! After a random drawing, Luke Riley came out the big winner! We spoke with Luke after the drawing, and found out he is an avid camper and outdoorsman with a great looking Land Cruiser tow vehicle to boot!
Wrapping up the event around 7:30, we packed up Maple X, closed the awning and headed back home, stopping only to take in the sunset on the side of the road. The day was an absolute success! For that matter, any day we can spend out in Maple X meeting new people, and enjoying beautiful weather is a success!
We would like to thank Martha Sproull and the entire Terrapin team for being so gracious and supportive of our mission. Here’s to #TakeTerrapin and Maple X having many new adventures together!
