While everyone was out west at Overland Expo, we headed to the old Turner Field parking lot in downtown Atlanta instead. Sure, it would have been great to be in Flagstaff, AZ scoping out the latest overlanding products and camping rigs but we chose to stay home and support an old friend’s car show!
Having been to quite a few custom car shows in our day, we knew there would be a good amount of trucks in attendance and a fun atmosphere. Whether in the show itself or simply the tow rigs outside in the overflow parking lot, there were plenty of lifted rigs to feast our eyes upon.
This obviously wasn’t the typical Expedition Georgia event as the show was filled with massive wheels, tiny tires and a lot of pavement. Clearly, this combination does little-to-nothing for a truck’s capabilities but in some configurations, it looks pretty badass!
However, you have to wonder if some of these trucks are truly capable of tearing up a trail or two. There certainly were quite a few rigs in attendance that could tackle some serious terrain – if they dared.
We’d like to think of ourselves as all-around car (truck) guys and we appreciate all different types of automobiles. Fortunately for us, there was no shortage of big trucks with big tires as well!
The show featured everything from BMS Offroad’s crazy SEMA truck (above) on air suspension to badass tow pigs. Of course, we brought out the Expedition Georgia GMC and our new favorite car show accessory, Maple X!
Maple X’s ARB awning and YETI 35 proved to be lifesavers on this muggy, rainy Georgia day. Enjoy some more trucks below!
